Why a Shared Pattern Is Not Proof

The geographical pattern is intriguing but should be interpreted cautiously.

Several factors weaken the case for viewing the entire Himalayan sequence as one connected phenomenon.

First, the reports differ considerably in quality. The Taplejung case depends solely on witness testimony, whereas the Pokhara incident includes claims of recovered physical material.

Second, descriptions are not identical. Witnesses variously reported thin luminous objects, blue lights, white streaks and flashing fireballs. Such variation could reflect different phenomena observed under different conditions rather than one object crossing the region.

Third, the timing spans more than a month. Although close enough to invite comparison, the incidents are too widely separated to demonstrate that a single object or event travelled across the Himalayas.

Competing Explanations
