How a Gabon report entered French records

The survival of Gabon’s UFO-related material is closely connected to the way French colonial administrations recorded events. During the period when Gabon was part of French Equatorial Africa, government services, maritime authorities and other institutions generated large quantities of administrative documents. This does not mean every unusual aerial report from colonial Gabon automatically became a dedicated UFO file. Why this record survived when many reports disappeared

What the archives can prove — and what they cannot
