Stefan Michalak’s account and documented injuries
On 20 May 1967, Stefan Michalak, an industrial mechanic and amateur prospector, was searching for quartz veins in Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba, when he reported seeing two glowing objects descend. According to his account, one object departed while the other landed nearby. He claimed to have approached it, observed a metallic exterior, heard voices from inside and attempted to communicate before the object suddenly lifted off.
Michalak said that as the object rose, hot gas or exhaust blasted through a grid-like vent, setting his shirt on fire and leaving burns across his abdomen and chest. He also reported nausea, vomiting, headaches, weakness and a metallic odour that persisted after the encounter.
