Investigators attempted to compare witness locations, movement directions and timings rather than treating every story as an isolated event. Despite their prominence in later retellings, these footprints present significant evidential problems.
No independently verified forensic examination appears to have survived, no widely available contemporary photographs have established their authenticity beyond dispute, and there is no documented chain of custody for the alleged physical evidence. As a result, the footprints function more as part of the developing folklore than as reliable physical proof.
The same caution applies to reports of damaged vegetation, unusual ground traces or alleged landing sites, which remain largely dependent on witness recollection rather than preserved scientific documentation.
Why the Story Expanded into Local Folklore
Miličín differs from many isolated UFO reports because it became embedded in local oral tradition.
Several factors encouraged this transformation.
First, the incidents occurred across a cluster of small rural communities where stories spread quickly between neighbours.
