Why Palau is well placed to observe orbital phenomena

Distinguishing satellites from genuinely unexplained reports
When assessing reports from Palau, several observational features strongly favour an orbital explanation.
Satellite or space-debris explanations become more likely when the object:
- travels smoothly in a straight path;
- produces no audible sound;
- appears shortly after sunset or before sunrise;
- maintains a constant speed;
- disappears abruptly without turning;
- consists of several equally spaced lights moving together;
- fragments into multiple glowing pieces during a prolonged descent.
Conversely, reports describing abrupt right-angle manoeuvres, prolonged hovering followed by rapid acceleration, or behaviour inconsistent with known orbital mechanics require separate evaluation.
