What the Coast Guard Searched For—and What It Found

The Coast Guard conducted a search of the waters near Bequia after the reports.

Investigators looked for evidence that would support either an aircraft accident or an object reaching the surface, including:

  • Floating debris.
  • Wreckage.
  • Signs of an impact.

Nothing was found.

Re-entering artificial objects cannot be ruled out.

Fragments of satellites or rocket stages can generate long-lasting luminous trails that resemble exceptionally slow meteors.
